To My Sisters in Christ....

i wrote this little poem(?) after a sister shared with me her reluctant feelings to confide any of her tough problems in life with other sisters in the fold.

Bearing Up One Another

i want to share, i need to talk so bad
how do i know they won’t run and tell sister so and so
exactly what i said?

totally betraying my trust, masked as a prayer request... the gossip...the rumors...

how will we ever be transparent and be able to help each other
without the basic element of trust?

silently we stew, silently we cry
hurting and aching inside
fearful to share our burdens

knowing the judgement that is sure to come
the possible betrayal, and stigma of isolation...

the cycle continues... silently we stew, silently we cry
hiding our private pain under our public masks of joyfulness

sigh! when will all this viciousness end?
we need each other...

oh my sisters, oh my sistas, just when will we begin to to love each
other with the true love of Christ?

Thanks for the poem. It is so true. I pray for my sanity rather than share my burdens with my sisters in christ. W e judge each other. Whisper about each other and use our own lives as good examples, when truth is we all have our crosses to bare (BEAR).

OOOOH! My MICA sister....girl! You had me going on that one! I guess I wrote the poem out of my own pain, because I could definitely feel my sister in Christ's pain.
